There are least 270 names for GOD d Bible.. He is so Enormous & every1 of dis names reveals some facet about HIS LIFE & His character. 1 commonly used name is EL or Elohim.. use to c dis in El-shaddai “God Almighty” we find it in Beth-EL rumah TUHAN.
We find it in Emanuel “God wit us” but YAHWEH is difference.. Yahweh is much more Personal.
Its often translated LORD, TUHAN & it usedwen God made humanity. Its used wen Abraham climbed Bukit Moriah the place where eventually the temple was build & the area in which our LORD Jesus Christ Died…It was use as He setup the mountain in order to WORSHIP God. The 1st tym the word ‘WORSHIP’ is used & God provides a sacrifice & reveals Himself as YAHWEH.. we use to think it as Jahovah. Dats the latin name of Yahweh. We find it words like Hall-EL-ujah which mean tocelebrate God our Lord.. But the revelation reaches its culmination in Exodus3 wen God reveals Himself to His people & He said “I AM THAT I AM” He is the eternal self existing one “I WIL BE WAT I WIL BE” He wasdeclaring His covenant & His reality to His people.
He says in Hebrew Exodus6 “UPTO THIS MOMENT U ARE NOT REALLY UNDERSTOOD.” I revealed my self to Abraham, Isaac & Jacob as God Almighty, El Shaddai. But now im revealing myself to u as ur covenant keeping God.. God who is wat u need HIM to be in ur life situation & den throughout the svcripture the name Jahovah/Yahweh is revealed.. He is Jahovah Tsid-kenu, Lord our Righteousness, He is Jahovah Mekkadesh, The Lord our HOLINess.. Jahovah Shalom, The lord our Peace.. Jahovah Ra’ah the lord our Shepherd…. Jahovah Shamah The Lord who is there… Jahovah Jireh.. God our provider.. He is our covenant keeping God, the lord of HIS people….
And then Jesus Christ come to Earth the name JESUS means “SAVIOUR” the name CHRIST mean “ANNOINTED ONE ” He was the Messiah for whom the world waited. But He wsnt just Jesus Christ.. He was the LORD Jesus Christ & in John 8 when they asking HIM, where He had Come from. And He said “b4 Abraham was I AM” He was declaring to them that He was Jahovah GOD. No wonder they took up stone to KILL Him. Bcoz He was proclaiming that He was the covenant keeping GOD of His people…
